P-type conductivity : The current conduction in an p-type semiconductor is predominantly by holes and is called p type conductivity.When potential difference is applied across the p-type semiconductors the holes will be directed towards the negative terminal, constituting hole current and the holes are shifted from one covalent to another.Therefore , this type of conductivity is known as p-type conductivity.
